Editing Service
Copyediting:
Do you have a finished manuscript that needs editing? You've come to the right place! As authors, we at Swift Publishing understand the painstaking care you've put into your words. It can be daunting to hand your passion and money over to someone and hope they return a ready-to-publish work. So, why choose us? I'm glad you asked! We provide:
A free consultation by phone or email to understand what you are looking for.
A sample edit of the first six pages.
A contract to protect you and make sure you receive your work on time.
Helpful suggestions and encouraging comments in the margins of the document.
Thorough attention to detail and all changes tracked.
The revised copy, a clean copy, and a style sheet.
Great price, fast turnaround, and no reliance on AI.
Spelling and grammatical errors will be fixed along with revisions to make sentences more readable or to eliminate redundancy. All edits are made using Microsoft Word and the Chicago Manual of Style is the standard (unless another is requested).
Once I return the manuscript, I do not end communication until I know you are happy and all of your questions have been answered!
Fee: $10 per every 1,000 words

Guidelines For Manuscript:
So that I can be effective with my time, please send the manuscript as a Microsoft Word document in its entirety.
1" margins all around.
12 point font size.
Times New Roman, Arial, or Garamond font.
What I do not accept:
Although I will proofread any genre, I do not edit academic works or technical manuals (but I can refer you to someone who does), cookbooks, erotica, poetry, video games, or comics.
*I am able to proof and format screenplays. I was a finalist in both BlueCat and Final Draft's screenplay competitions.
If a work is historical, whether fiction or non-fiction, it must already be fact-checked for accuracy. Please ensure all Bible verses have the correct chapter, verse, and translation cited.
*I understand that sometimes sexuality and violence are part of a story, but I believe that our words can have a serious impact on the reader and will not take part in anything with strong themes of gore or brutality that appears to support or glamorize such acts.
I reserve the right to refuse a manuscript that discriminates against anyone on the basis of their race/religion/politics/gender/orientation/or disability.
